Hi,

You may have heard about Bisounours Party, a French Hl2 multiplayer mod about carebears killing themselves, drinking vodka and smoking bong.
You may haven't, but if I write this today is because the mod is Dead. Daft Robot, the team who where developping it stopped all activity and proposed to modders to take the project.
They've released the source, and everything that modders needed to make the mod.
Before the mod's release (and after too), I were a beta tester, play testing the game a lot with their creator (whose are friends).

Why did the mod fell apart ?
The main coder of Bp (Bisounours Party), aka Asibasth, who did bring a lot to the mod, left just after the first public release.
He deleted most of the forum, a lot of sources from the mod and disappeared. This guy is really someone everybody should stay away from.
I won't start to lynch him about his act and his nature, but you should really consider him as an asshole (sorry for the strong term, but that's really what he is).

Actually, I lied when I said it was dead : I, Among with other old dev and tester, have decided to bring back the mod to live.
So we've contacted the leads of the mod, and all of them were alright about us taking the mod, and we've started working.
So far 2 weeks later we think it's time to announce all the work we've done and the rebirth of the mod.
The new website is up (still waiting to the domain name to expire to transfer it) at : http://orygin.be/bp/ , the forum is also completely redone : http://orygin.be/bp/forum/

So far there's one thing left we haven't to successfully start a rebirth : the ModDB page.
You may ask yourself, why don't we contact the author of the mod page and get the rights ?
We did, but the guy who did set up the mod is Asibasth, and he's blocking all the stuff.

He first asked us to show a bit of work, to get sure we're serious ... Wait, What ?
Why would WE need to be "serious" when this guy completely destroyed the mod by itself ?
Anyway, we showed him what we did, he said alright "but I need to talk to Klems" (Klems was the Game designer back then, and is in vacation for a month) (and of course, we had already talk to Klems, he was alright).
He does know that Klems couldn't talk to him, even if he wanted to.

By now, Asibasth completely refuse to give us the rights, saying he cares about the mod's image.
He's completely hypocrite and nobody should trust him.

So that's why I am now writing this : Our new mod team wants to get the ModDB page back. Since we are totally allowed by the original authors to get the mod rights, Bp now becomes our mod.
And basically, we're asking to get control of the page of our mod on your (very useful) platform.

J'ai discuter avec un Admin de Fpsbanana, et si le site n'est pas "cassé" il changera le superviseur de Bisounours party a moi même..

De plus, il a bien aimer la vidéo du gameplay sur moddb, donc j'essaierais de faire mettre Bisounours en Premiere page !

Vous n'avez aucun droits sur le dump SVN, sauf éventuellement Max.
D'autre personnes ont peut être envie de reprendre le mod, ou tout simplement de s'inspirer de certains trucs. C'est leur droit, et c'est pour cette raison qu'Asi a mis le dump sur Moddb.
Enfin bref, remettez au moins le dump, déjà ça évitera une mauvaise image.

Salutations du matin, du midi, du soir, bonsoir...

Je suis un petit nouveau sur ce forum, je m'y suis inscris parceque je connais un certain Stoop23, mais aussi parceque j'ai "ADORAY" ce mod.
A une certaine époque j'en avais entendu parlé, puis, le néant... Jusqu'à ce jour où je l'ai croisé de nouveau sur la toile, et je l'ai essayé.

Conclusion : Pleinement satisfait, j'ai aimé, et je viens ici pour me tenir au courant des news à propos de cette chose qu'est Bisounours party, et pourquoi pas, venir apporter un peu de mon aide.

Pourquoi on ne le virerais pas ?

Si quelqu'un a vraiment besoin de quelque chose qui s'y trouvait, il peu me contacter.
Sinon je pense mettre le code source des release publiques.

J'ai pas dit que tu avais tout les droits sur le dump, j'ai dit que tu avais une partie des droits parce que tu a fait une partie du truc.
Orygin et le reste n'ont aucun droit dessus, contrairement à toi.

On ne vous a pas autorisé à prendre le total contrôle du mod.
Vous pouvez utiliser le site officiel, le steam group, le profil moddb, et on (je, surtout) peut vous aider si ça vous arrange de temps en temps.
Le dump est juste là pour que d'autre personnes fassent leur propre version du mod, et c'est ce que vous faites.
D'autre personnes ont peut être envie de l'utiliser sans avoir à le demander. C'est pour ça qu'on vous demande de le remettre en circulation, et gentiment pour l'instant.

Bah ca attendra un peu.

Le mod sera en open source complet, donc la autant attendre une première sortie que d'upload ces giga de bump.

S'il est bientôt en open source, quel intérêt de cacher les sources ?
