v5 server admins?

Hi,

I know that usually you don't ask for admin, you're simply made one or not, but it gets kind of boring to play 1 server all the time with same game mode, same 5 maps or so..
For instance, in a previous version I remember playing Capture Points as well and loved it. And I'd like to know what else is out there and if we can have access to it.

I've been admining for years now, atm I own a few HL2: DM servers and would like to bring some flavor to at least 1 of the existing BPR servers.

If you want to explore the maps, you can either host a server yourself or connect to an all maps server (there are dm, push, forts and dom servers too).

ok but instead of me just sitting alone on a server, waiting for the mapcycle to run, isn't there an index site like this http://www.verrues.biz/mirror/maps/ where I can see available maps?

And you didn't answer about other game modes (I don't think all maps is a game mode and idk what push, forts and dom mean).

And the point was there's already 15 empty servers, why would I host yet another one myself?

You can see the list of available maps in the Create Server box, in the map selection drop down list.
Create a local server will allow you to visit any map you want at any time, on your own, and then take you time to test and understand the basics of the different gameplays.
To know what are the rules of the different game mods, I invite you to read this

This kind of index site is something set up by the server admin, like on any other mod. It's up to him to let the players know what maps are installed and present in the rotation, with this kind of index page for example.

Ah I thought the game came with just a few maps, like Valve's official, and there were other custom maps out there.
And looks like Domination is the old capture point mod.

I have a very basic SourceMod installation working on my BP server. If you play on that, you should be able to use the "sm_votemap some-map-name-here" command in the console to initiate a vote to change the server to a different map - bypassing the normal rotation. Also, that might work using the in-game chat as "!votemap some-map-name-here"

If there are any custom maps for BPr that are known to work with the updated version, let me know and I will consider adding them as well.
